The Oenological Week Sagrantino Wine Festival is the main manifestation organized by the Municipality of Montefalco to display the Montefalco Wines DOC and DOCG and the interesting oenoturistic proposals of the “Strada del Sagrantino” Association.

It is a four - day exhibition, taking place in the expositive area of St Agostino Unit, in the centre of Montefalco, from Thursday to Sunday, on the second half of September, generally connected with the third Sunday. All the winemakers of the area where Sagrantino is produced take part in this important event.
In order to ensure the success of the manifestation and to guarantee a widespread knowledge of the local production, the Municipality of Montefalco carries out activities of promotion with a great replay also further the merely local interest.
For the Italian and European wine - growing and wine - producing sector the manifestation has become an important opportunity to meet and to confront, but it is also a reference point for the public fond of Italian wines and oenogastronomical tourism.
The program also includes: the Taste Walks on the Sagrantino Road, with wine tasting in the wineries located in the area where Sagrantino is produced; wine tasting of Montefalco Rosso Doc and Sagrantino Docg both dry and sweet version, conducted by an expert; “A Comparison of Taste at Table” with the renowned chefs of the Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe; tasting of the local extra virgin olive - oil; art show of paintings and comic - strips edited by the Umbrian Comic Association of Perugia; meetings; concerts.
